Dr. Isaac Kohane is the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Marion V. Nelson Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School. Over the last 30 years, Dr. Kohane’s research agenda has been driven by the vision of what biomedical researchers could do to find new cures, provide new diagnoses and deliver the best care available if data could be converted more rapidly to knowledge and knowledge to practice. In this seminar, Dr. Kohane will describe the major problems in modern medical and healthcare system and outline a variety of emerging technologies, policies and leading edge projects that are providing solutions that could involve the current healthcare and academic medical systems or might catalyze their disruption.
