Jounce Therapeutics is a fast-growing, dynamic start-up biotech dedicated to the discovery and development of novel cancer immunotherapies designed to mobilize the immune system to seek out and attack malignant cells.
Currently, Jounce is looking for a talented intern to help advance business development projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important role in driving competitive intelligence and assessing clinical status of external immuno-oncology programs. He/she would report to the Sr. Manager of Business Development and have the opportunity to participate in meetings with Jounce Sr. Management.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Gathering secondary data on competitors, clinical trials, therapeutic areas, indications, and disease epidemiology through database and Internet searches, market research, and commercial reports
Conducting telephone and in-person interviews to gather primary data around areas listed above
Developing and maintaining rigorous and comprehensive databases to organize and summarize key secondary data. Examples include populating a database summarizing competitor programs and developing a spreadsheet summarizing clinical trials or disease epidemiology.
Collaborating with the Sr. Manager of Business Development to derive conclusions and recommendations based upon research and analyses. The candidate will be expected to transform what he/she has learned into thoughtful insights, informing Jounce’s strategic decision making.
B.S/B.A. or M.S. in biology or a related discipline; Ph.D. is a plus
Outstanding academic achievement
Strong secondary research skills; experience with primary physician / KOL research is a plus
Comfort deriving conclusions from a large set of data
Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal)
