Boxer Capital, under the Tavistock Group, is seeking an Investment Analyst Intern to join our biotechnology investment team in San Diego, California.


Boxer Capital is a healthcare-focused investment firm whose mission is to identify biotechnology companies that aim to drastically improve medicine.  Our goal is to recognize innovation in biotechnology and aggressively pursue investment opportunities. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate in understanding novel therapies targeting unmet medical needs, and who desires to learn more about investing in biotechnology.

Responsibilities of the Investment Analyst Intern will include:

  • Summarizing key information from medical journals spanning a broad range of topics

  • Assisting with due diligence on potential investment opportunities

  • Developing and maintaining accurate and detailed project documentation including timelines, action items and agendas

Qualifications include:

  • PhD, MD, PharmD or Master’s candidates in the sciences

  • Healthcare exposure, either academically or job-related

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Detail-oriented, mature, conscientious, and trustworthy

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs particularly Excel

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and maintain tight and aggressive deadlines

  • The ability to work both independently and in teams

  • Desire to learn the biotechnology hedge fund industry
