Diversity & Inclusion

Represent, support, educate, collaborate.

We are committed to empowering anti-racism efforts in the biotech community. Together with other biotech clubs, we stand in solidarity to expose, educate on, and address how racial injustice has shaped the biotech ecosystem, and we challenge the current industry to increase transparency and make use of resources we compile.

Inclusive Futures in Biotech Scholarship

As part of our efforts to build an inclusive and diverse biotech community, we have partnered with the MIT Biotech Group to introduce the Inclusive Futures in Biotech Scholarship.

Biotech is a booming industry, dedicated to advancing the life sciences and medicine. The field spans many areas, including science entrepreneurship, patent law, drug development, medical devices, and much more.

Boston-area high school seniors with an interest in a future in biotech are encouraged to apply for the scholarship! No experience in biotech is needed. Priority will be given to students from underrepresented communities, though we warmly welcome all interested applicants.

The Joint Scholarship Program by MIT Biotech Group (MBG) and Harvard Biotech Club (HBC) offers scholarships to high school seniors interested in life sciences. Recipients will receive scholarship funds ranging from $500 to $1,000. Applicants will be asked to submit personal statements, demonstrate interest in biotech, list extracurricular activities, and provide additional information. The application window is from November to January, with winners announced in late February to early March. An award ceremony and dinner event will be held in April, connecting winners with MBG and HBC members. Potential mentorship and sponsor engagement opportunities are also part of the program.

Application deadline: January 31st, 2025 at 11:59PM EST
